There are so many people out there that think that riding a bicycle is a bit like acting like you were in your early years again. Is all of this actually true or are there just people out there that like to cause a bit of an argument?
I can see their point in certain ways, some of the cycling clothing does look a bit out there and those cycling shoes look simply ridiculous on some of the people that wear them.
I have taken a look at their point and they are without doubt, wrong. It is very hard for me to understand how someone riding to work getting a nice bit of excercise and doing some good for the environment is acting like a child at all? It is also very true to say that people that think this way are very overweight, unable to ride or very arrogant people. They are the people that tend to drive to work in the morning whilst having a nice puff on a cigarette and tucking into a nice fast food morning meal. I think I would rather be riding in the cold!
Other Reasons People Associate Bikes With Children
One of the other reasons this argument comes up is because many people have not been on a bike since they were in their younger years. It is certainly one of the first things that a parent will teach their child to do other than potty training and helping them to walk and talk. Many adults do not remember these times so their memory takes them straight to the training wheels on the bike.
Perhaps you had a fall when you were younger and have never had the guts to get on a bike again so automatically hate them, hey it happens.
The real truth is that bikes are certainly not for kids and by riding one you are helping the environment and there are going to be more and more of them on the road soon.
Get on those racing bikes and get riding!
